What does AACI accreditation tell me?

American Accreditation Commission International (AACI) offers AACI healthcare accreditation and separate dental and management-system programmes. AACI America LLC is a private US company, while particular ISO certificates can name a different AACI legal entity.

Who runs it and is it the government?

AACI operates as a private evaluator, not a US government licensing authority. If a clinic relies on its American name, ask instead which AACI programme and legal issuer appear on the certificate.

Its programmes serve hospitals, clinics, dental organisations and other defined services. An organisation can hold one type of AACI award without holding every other type. The logo therefore needs the full certificate title to become useful evidence for a patient.

AACI has organisation-level IEEA recognition for May 2026 to May 2030. That period concerns AACI's external evaluation, not the expiry date of your clinic's award. IEEA's awards directory identifies the recipient and category.

What does it assess and for how long?

Healthcare accreditation assesses quality and safety against AACI's healthcare standards. Other programmes cover different subjects, including management systems. At least one periodic survey takes place each calendar year under the accreditation maintenance arrangements. AACI's maintenance requirements explain the continuing assessment.

An annual survey requirement does not tell you the full certificate term. Read the dates on the actual award and ask AACI about any uncertainty. Do not borrow an expiry period from an ISO certificate to describe a healthcare accreditation certificate.

How do I find a clinic in its register?

Open AACI's directory of accredited and certified organisations and use the name filter. Match the country and classification, then open the status or certificate for the exact programme.

Read the classification before accepting a result as clinical accreditation. The directory includes different awards, and entries in Turkey, Thailand or India still need that individual category check. A matching organisation name is only the beginning of the enquiry.

What does it not tell me?

AACI healthcare accreditation, ISO 9001, ISO 7101 and @TRUST are different awards. Website-content certification does not establish clinical accreditation. Ask the clinic to state which designation supports the particular claim it makes about your care.
