How should I check a QHA Trent claim?

QHA Trent is a legacy UK name associated with external assessment of healthcare facilities. Before relying on a clinic's claim, ask for confirmation of the current legal operator behind the QHA Trent brand and the validity of its award.

Who runs it and is it the government?

The historical operation was a private UK accreditation business. A QHA Trent logo is not a UK government licence or a statement that the UK government supervises a clinic abroad.

There is a specific identity question to resolve. Temos reports that QHA Trent closed in October 2020, while a QHA-branded website remains online. Neither the surviving website nor a historic certificate, by itself, demonstrates that the old operator continues to issue awards. Temos's comparison page contains the closure statement.

Ask the clinic for the full legal name of the organisation that issued its current certificate. If that name differs from the historical operator, ask the issuer to explain the relationship and who is responsible for verification today.

What does it assess and for how long?

The branded website describes preliminary and final on-site assessments of hospitals and other healthcare facilities. That describes an assessment process, but it does not settle the validity of an individual certificate today. The published accreditation-process page is the starting point for understanding the claim.

Ask for a dated certificate and the issuer's current renewal rules. Do not assign a validity period to an old logo or assume that a historical cycle still applies. An explanation of past assessments cannot substitute for confirmation that the advertised award remains active.

How do I find a clinic in its register?

Ask the claimed issuer for a current verification route and confirmation of the named clinic. Obtain the certificate number and issuing legal entity from the clinic first, so the reply addresses an identifiable award.

If you receive only an old certificate or a link to the branded homepage, ask again for present status. Keep the accreditation claim unconfirmed until the issuer can resolve the identity and date questions.

What does it not tell me?

A legacy logo does not demonstrate current accreditation, current IEEA recognition or a present-day operating licence. It also cannot establish who would answer a verification enquiry now.

Use How to check any mark in five minutes alongside this additional continuity check.
