What does QUAD A accreditation mean?
QUAD A is the name used by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, formerly AAAASF. This US non-government association operates facility programmes for ambulatory surgery, procedural and dental services.
Who runs it and is it the government?
QUAD A is an accreditation association, not a US government licensing body. Its international programme is distinct from its other facility programmes, so ask which programme is named on the award.
The assessed recipient can be a surgical facility or another eligible service. If a doctor promotes a QUAD A facility award on a personal website, ask which facility holds it. The award's recipient helps you understand what was evaluated before you consider what it means for your treatment.
What does it assess and for how long?
Facility programmes examine safety requirements through external inspection and self-survey arrangements. Read the exact programme certificate for its term and ask QUAD A to confirm the expiry. Do not assume one universal duration across its different programmes.
QUAD A Select, formerly called Global Accreditation, concerns readiness for international patients. Distinguish that designation from underlying facility accreditation. A readiness claim needs its own explanation of what was assessed and which other awards the facility holds.
IEEA recognition for QUAD A's international standards runs from August 2025 to August 2029. That is a standards award, not a separately established organisation-level award or the validity period of a clinic's certificate. IEEA's directory identifies the category.
How do I find a clinic in its register?
Start with QUAD A's patient information and follow the accredited-facility directory. Find the facility and compare its programme and address with the proposed treatment location. Request expiry confirmation if the listing does not provide enough detail.
If the directory does not display results, contact QUAD A with the facility name and certificate information. Ask specifically whether the advertised designation is facility accreditation, QUAD A Select or another programme. This gives the issuer a precise claim to confirm.
What does it not tell me?
Readiness for international patients and facility accreditation are different designations. Neither should be described as the doctor's personal licence, and the standards' IEEA recognition does not establish the facility's current award.
