What does a Temos award tell me?

Temos International GmbH assesses clinical and non-clinical care, including international patients' needs, through programmes for hospitals, dental, reproductive, eye and rehabilitation services. It is a private company based in Germany.

Who runs it and is it the government?

Temos operates as a private external evaluator. Its award does not constitute German government permission for a clinic to operate in another country.

The programme name matters because Temos also assesses medical-travel coordinators. A coordinator can help arrange treatment without being the healthcare provider that performs it. Establish whether the named recipient is a hospital, another clinical service or a coordination business before interpreting the certificate.

Temos appears in the ISQua External Evaluation Association directory as an Assessed Organisation for December 2023 to December 2027. Preserve that category when describing its recognition. IEEA explains the equivalent assessment methodology in its legal-jurisdiction note. IEEA's awards directory distinguishes the award categories.

What does it assess and for how long?

The assessment combines self-assessment, document review and external evaluation, with an on-site element according to the programme. The healthcare programmes consider both clinical care and the non-clinical arrangements relevant to international patients.

Initial accreditation lasts three years, followed by renewed evaluation. Check whether a directory entry describes an active award or a pending re-accreditation. A statement that renewal is under way does not itself give you a new expiry date. Temos's assessment-process explanation describes the route to an award.

EU healthcare providers receive an Assessed Organization certificate. Read that wording as the programme's stated category rather than replacing it with a different designation.

How do I find a clinic in its register?

Open Temos's accredited-partner directory. Filter by country, city, organisation name or service, then open the relevant entry. Compare the recipient category and status, paying particular attention to “accredited”, “assessed” and “re-accreditation pending”.

If a result concerns coordination services, return to the actual treating provider's claim. The directory includes different kinds of organisations, so a country match alone is not enough.

What does it not tell me?

A coordinator's certificate does not establish the hospital's accreditation. Temos's own external recognition also does not replace the hospital's individual award or the doctor's registration.
