What does TÜSKA's SAS accreditation mean in Turkey?
Türkiye Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA) administers healthcare accreditation under TÜSKA's SAS standards. TÜSKA sits within the public Türkiye Health Institutes structure, known as TÜSEB.
Who runs it and is it the government?
TÜSKA is a public institution. Its programmes assess hospitals, outpatient services and other eligible healthcare organisations. Ask which SAS programme appears on the certificate rather than treating all Turkish quality requirements as one system.
SAS accreditation is separate from the Ministry of Health's SKS quality standards and international health-tourism authorisation. The hospital's underlying operating permission is another requirement. A certificate for one of these purposes should keep its own title when you compare providers.
What does it assess and for how long?
TÜSKA uses external assessment against the standards for the relevant programme. Directory examples show three-year award terms, but use the individual entry's start and end dates when checking your hospital.
IEEA recognition is established for standards. Do not describe that as a separate organisation-level award to TÜSKA without the corresponding award entry. The category of recognition matters just as much as the organisation's familiar name. IEEA's awards directory distinguishes those categories.
An official notice sets 31 December 2026 as an accreditation deadline for specified health-tourism facilities. On this page's check date, that deadline is still in the future. Ask how the requirement applies to the facility category and your planned treatment date. TÜSKA's notice on mandatory accreditation explains the specified categories.
How do I find a clinic in its register?
Open TÜSKA's accredited-organisations directory. Filter by facility type, category or programme, then find the organisation's name. Read the start date, end date and status together.
Historical entries may remain visible. If an entry has expired but the hospital claims renewal, ask TÜSKA to confirm the current award. A past listing should not be treated as continuing status without the newer dates or decision.
What does it not tell me?
SAS accreditation does not replace health-tourism eligibility, operating permission or a doctor's professional licence. A future compliance deadline also does not establish that a facility has already obtained the required accreditation.
Use How to check any mark in five minutes before relying on the claim.
