How do I check a doctor in the Czech Republic?

The Czech Medical Chamber (ČLK) maintains professional chamber registration, while the Ministry of Health handles qualification-recognition routes. Patients can search the chamber's public directory, and dentists have a separate Czech Dental Chamber directory.

How do I look up a doctor?

Open ČLK's list of doctors and enter the surname. Add the given name, district, region or specialty to narrow the results. The Czech-language directory provides membership and declared specialty information.

Match the person carefully and ask the chamber to explain any unclear status. The chamber warns that some doctors have not supplied a specialty or have not obtained one. A blank specialty field therefore needs follow-up rather than an automatic conclusion.

How do I check a specialist or a dentist?

Use the exact specialty filter and the doctor's name in the ČLK directory. If the specialty is missing, ask the chamber to confirm the recognised title. Basic professional qualification and specialist qualification are different credentials.

For a dentist, use the Czech Dental Chamber's dentist search and the identity or location fields offered. Distinguish the individual dentist from a healthcare-provider organisation in the results. The directory concerns dentists qualified to practise in Czechia.

Ask the chamber how to confirm a claimed dental specialty. A chamber course or certificate should not automatically be treated as the same thing as a statutory specialist qualification.

Does the register show disciplinary action?

Ask the appropriate chamber what current restrictions and disciplinary information it can confirm. A membership or qualification entry should not be described as a complete sanctions history. If the public record lacks a status explanation, request one directly before relying on the clinic's description.

What about doctors trained abroad?

Foreign qualifications require the relevant Ministry of Health recognition route. Applicable non-EU graduates undergo an approbation process, and the dental requirements include Czech-language competence. The official approbation-exam information explains that process.

Foreign specialist qualifications have their own recognition requirements. Basic recognition does not verify every specialty claimed in advertising, so ask for the decision covering the precise title. The ministry's qualification-recognition guidance provides the official route.

What do US, Canadian or UK titles mean here?

Overseas titles do not replace Czech recognition or professional requirements; use the foreign-credentials guide to check the additional credentials.
