How do I check a doctor in Hungary?

How do I look up a doctor?

Open OKFŐ's professional-register search. Enter the doctor's name or part of the name: a registration number alone is not enough. You can add the number, profession or register type, then use a qualification filter and the verification slider.

Read the basic and operational information separately. Basic registration records the qualification. Operational registration concerns the right to practise independently. If the result does not make the current position clear, ask OKFŐ to confirm it for the named professional.

The search is in Hungarian, with English explanatory guidance available. Ask the doctor to supply the exact registered name and qualification if the wording differs from the clinic's English biography.

How do I check a specialist or a dentist?

Dentists use the same basic and operational registration system. Choose the appropriate profession or register type so you compare the correct professional record.

A qualification obtained abroad must be recognised in Hungary, followed by the applicable operational registration.
