Travelling to Barcelona for treatment
For visas, payment arrangements and medical documents, start with Travelling to Spain for treatment. This page covers arrival, clinic locations and the local route for raising concerns in Barcelona.
How do I get there?
Consult Aena’s Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport page. Give your clinic the airport and terminal details when confirming any arrival arrangements.
Ask for the appointment address, department and a contact number before booking onward transport. If a quotation includes several appointments, request a separate location for each. Confirm whether the first assessment takes place at the clinic or a hospital, and ask how the provider will handle an arrival delay that affects the appointment time.
Where are the clinics?
Clínica Dental Echeverría lists Via Augusta 118 in Sarrià–Sant Gervasi. Fertilab lists Ronda del General Mitre 14, Barcelona.
These examples show the addresses published by two providers; they do not establish a single medical district. Check the branch, entrance and floor on the appointment confirmation. Ask whether investigations, treatment and later reviews are provided at the same place. If another hospital is involved, request its name and address and confirm which organisation will be responsible for your records and correspondence.
Who can I complain to locally?
The Catalan Health Service’s cross-border complaint information explains routes for dissatisfaction with care. Ask the Catalan health authorities which procedure applies to the specific provider, especially when treatment is privately arranged.
Do not assume that a public-system complaint form covers every private-clinic issue. Request the appropriate form, submission channel and accepted language. Identify the provider, address and dates, and retain the acknowledgement so the matter can be followed after you leave.
For national bodies and licence-checking information, see Travelling to Spain for treatment.
What should I know about the place?
Turisme de Barcelona’s official sector newsletter describes the city’s international health-tourism promotion and hospital-based specialist care. It is a historical description of the sector, not a current assessment of a clinic or its outcomes.
