Our reading
Four clinics in Hungary publish a current price for a health check-up. Prices were read on the clinics' own websites between 26 October and 4 November 2026, and all are in Hungarian forints. All four are in Budapest.
Medicare is a group of hospitals and clinics; its prices are the group's tariff on medicare-group.hu. They are "from" prices, shown next to a discount of up to 5 to 14% with no end date, and the group says the location must be confirmed. They are not a quote for international patients.
At the basic level, Medicare publishes from HUF 55,700 (≈ USD 170) for an internal medicine examination, a resting ECG and an extended blood and urine panel. Duna Medical Center publishes from HUF 96,000 (≈ USD 293) for a package with 17 laboratory tests, abdominal and pelvic ultrasound and an ECG. Oktogon Medical Center publishes HUF 190,000 (≈ USD 580) for its Essential package: laboratory screening, abdominal and pelvic ultrasound, a chest X-ray, ECG, internal medicine, a gynaecology or urology examination, eye screening and a specialist report. Dr. Rose Private Hospital publishes HUF 260,000 (≈ USD 794) for its STANDARD manager screening.
At the comprehensive level, Medicare publishes from HUF 178,200 (≈ USD 544) for its one-day manager package, with internal medicine, cardiac, eye and skin reviews, ECG and abdominal, pelvic and carotid ultrasound. Oktogon publishes HUF 340,000 (≈ USD 1,038) for its Executive package, which adds ENT, carotid Doppler, thyroid ultrasound and spirometry. Dr. Rose Private Hospital publishes four comprehensive manager screenings, from HUF 460,000 (≈ USD 1,404) to HUF 890,000 (≈ USD 2,716), with specialist examinations, imaging and laboratory tests.
For women, Medicare publishes from HUF 81,300 (≈ USD 248), and from HUF 104,300 (≈ USD 318) at 50 and over. Duna publishes from HUF 234,000 (≈ USD 714) under 40 and from HUF 341,500 (≈ USD 1,042) over 40; the second includes low-dose lung CT, mammography and bone densitometry. For men, Medicare publishes from HUF 79,500 (≈ USD 243), and from HUF 88,800 (≈ USD 271) at 50 and over; Duna from HUF 161,000 (≈ USD 491) under 40 and from HUF 290,500 (≈ USD 887) over 40. Duna lists a nursing package fee as not included. Medicare also publishes a cardiac package from HUF 75,300 (≈ USD 230).
Packages are grouped by the level each clinic gives them, so the same level at two clinics may not contain the same tests. Duna Medical Center, Oktogon Medical Center and Dr. Rose Private Hospital do not state a guarantee, repeat terms or aftercare, and none names the doctor who carries out the check-up. For Medicare these points have not yet been checked.
