Non-surgical hair-loss treatment (PRP, mesotherapy, exosomes) abroad: one PRP scalp session from ≈ CAD 72 per session

Non-surgical hair-loss treatment covers scalp injections and laser devices, sold as sessions or courses. Surgical hair transplant is a different topic with its own page. This page describes how clinics publish the price and terms.

What does it involve?

Clinics describe their offer by the method, the product and the number of sessions:

• PRP or PRF scalp injections — the American Academy of Dermatology describes PRP as drawing a small amount of your blood and separating it in a machine before injection. Some clinics sell a related preparation as PRF; ask how it is prepared.
• Scalp mesotherapy — a clinic name for a series of small scalp injections. Ask which substance is injected, and at what dose.
• Exosome scalp treatment — the US FDA states that there are currently no FDA-approved exosome products. See also stem cell therapy.
• Low-level laser therapy — the American Academy of Dermatology notes that laser therapy in a clinic requires many treatment sessions, and that laser caps and combs are sold for home use.

How do clinics price it?

Clinics use two price units, compared separately here:

• Per session — one injection treatment or one laser session.
• Per course — a stated number of sessions sold together.

A published price usually includes the procedure and, for PRP or PRF, the blood draw. Often charged extra: a first consultation, blood tests, a scalp examination, the product used in mesotherapy or exosome treatment, home devices, and follow-up. Some clinics publish a price without naming the product. Prices are only comparable within the same unit and the same method.

What should I ask the clinic before paying?

• Which method is used, and what exactly is injected or applied?
• Who makes the product, and is it a licensed medicine, a medical device or a cosmetic?
• Which named doctor assesses you and performs the injections? See how to check a doctor.
• Are the first consultation, blood tests and scalp examination included in the price?
• For a course: how many sessions, over what period, and can unused sessions be refunded?
• How long is the written price valid?

What this page does not tell you

This page reports published prices and terms. It does not say whether any of these methods suits you or works; that decision belongs with your own doctor. The NHS advises seeing a GP to understand the cause of hair loss before going to a commercial hair clinic. In the US, laser hair combs for pattern hair loss are Class II devices reviewed through the FDA 510(k) process.
